Icehotel Sweden - The World's First and Most Famous Ice Hotel
The Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi, Swedish Lapland, is the world's first and most famous hotel made entirely of ice and snow. Since 1989, it has been rebuilt every winter from ice harvested from the nearby Torne River - a truly unique experience you won't find anywhere else.
The Experience
Sleeping in the Icehotel means spending the night in a room made entirely of ice at a constant -5°C (23°F). You sleep on an ice bed covered with reindeer skins inside a thermal sleeping bag. Despite the cold, guests consistently describe it as surprisingly comfortable and cozy.
